In Great North, digitally remastered from the Large-Format film originally presented in IMAX theaters, the rich culture of the Inuit people is depicted through the eyes of a native man. "My name is Adamie Inukpuk," says the Inuit, drinking from the glacial stream. "I have lived in this land for over 5,000 years."

Showcasing the Inuit lifestyle and long-standing tribal traditions, such as fishing and hunting, he leads viewers on a mystical journey through beautiful, snow-covered Arctic landscapes.

Celebrating Man, Animal and Landscape at the Top of the Globe

An iceberg looms, huge and luminous. A river winds through a wide glacial valley, surrounded by stark mountains. A rainbow arches over the rocky terrain - rumbling with the rhythmic energy of a herd of migrating caribou.

Robert Flaherty's documentary "Nanook of the North", about the Inuit people who lived off the frigid landscape of the Arctic, is a seminal work of film history. In Great North, Adamie, the grandson of the legendary Nanook, serves as narrator and guides us through the land, traditions and culture of the Inuit. Inside their snow houses and tents, we watch the Inuit and Saami elders passing on what they know to their children, making sure that their way of life will remain eternal.

With breathtaking film footage, Great North shows us unique ways of living that are perfectly adapted to extreme environments. Patience, a respect for nature's lessons and the bonds of community are all necessary for survival. Share the extraordinary plight of the people who have long lived in harmony with the harsh elements of the Arctic.
